About me
My ministry journey weaves together deep theological foundations with hands-on pastoral experience, reflecting my commitment to both scholarly excellence and compassionate leadership.
As a trailblazer in my field, I hold the distinction of being the first African American woman ordained as clergy and serving as Executive Pastor at First Baptist Church of University Park in University Park, Illinois. In another groundbreaking role, I serve as the Director for Community Engagement for Bishop Anderson House, where I spearheaded the establishment of the Committee on Social Equity and Racial Justice. My current pastoral work extends to Trinity Christian College, where I serve as Interim Campus Co-Pastor.
My academic journey reflects my dedication to theological scholarship, culminating in a Doctor of Ministry from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and a Master of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership from Lee University School of Religion. Recognizing the evolving needs of our community, I am currently pursuing advanced studies in Marriage & Family Therapy, specializing in Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy from National University. This additional expertise allows me to provide more comprehensive support to individuals and families navigating life's complexities.
Throughout my ministry, I remain committed to breaking barriers, fostering inclusive communities, and providing compassionate guidance grounded in both theological wisdom and contemporary therapeutic approaches.

My commitment to pastoral care and community service has been recognized through various fellowships and awards.
As the inaugural Community Chaplain Fellow for Bishop Anderson House and a recipient of the prestigious ABCMC James B. Ashbrook Award in Pastoral Care & Pastoral Theology I've demonstrated leadership in bridging spiritual care with community needs.
My work as a Chicago Commons Fellow and Thrive International Fellow has further enriched my approach to ministry and community engagement.
